Vodafone
On Monday the 4th I began work experience in Vodafone. I started off by by getting a tour of the building. The building was massive with 6 floors . On the ground floor it had a gym , a well being room and a hair salon for all employees to use. The next 4 floors were filled with offices. The final 2 floors were for cafeteria. Each employee were served a breakfast , lunch and dinner. After my tour I was passed over to the people behind social media for Vodafone Ireland. They posted up about rugby , festivals tickets , competitions and more . They showed me the insights of what goes into making a tweet or advertisement . I learnt all about the techniques and style they use for advertisements and social media, such as they said to never be critical of Irish Rugby but never put pressure on the squad. I also learnt about what techniques they use if an advertisement is doing poorly . They showed that everybody enjoyed the Vodafone Piggy Sue ad , but nobody knew what the ad was for . They initially tried to get the ad more Vodafone involved but in the end decided to kill it. We were worked in foundation with Rob. We were shown the work Vodafone do with charity . Every year they set a goal to raise for ISPCC Childline. This year they have attempted to raise €150,000, with 4 months to go they needed another €40,000 to reach their goal. They also try to help donations by sending employees to concerts and festivals to send ponchos .
On the second and third day we worked will Michelle and Louchina showed us branding and youth consuming. They began a new campaign for Vodafone X. This was a new pay as you go plan that was focused to students. During the course of 2 days we showed them what we would like as a consumer and how we see ads.
On the Thursday we went into Dundrum Shopping Centre to work in Vodafone shop this helped us to get a store overview and customer experience . Jennifer and I did a meet and greet giving away chocolates and helping people top up .
On the last day we set up a Christmas party. We got a gist of planning events and how to plan out an event .
Overall I really enjoyed my experience at Vodafone and learnt a lot from my week there.
